| Dr Mike Wanless |
Mike Wanless qualified as a dentist at Manchester in 1976. He worked for
many years in the community dental service before becoming head of the
DCP School in 2007. He lectures widely on communication with patients and
interpersonal skills.
Mike is also involved in DCP education as a Director of N.E.B.D.N. and is an
Education Programme Director for North Western Deanery |

| Dr Madeleine Hardman |
|
Dr Hardman qualified as Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1976 from the University of Liverpool and has worked as a General Dental Practitioner in England and Wales. During this time she was active in the local dental community being Secretary of the North Wales BDA Section, Local Dental Committee and Area Advisory Committee. She joined the Community Dental Service in Oldham in 1986 with responsibilities for Health and Safety and served on various Trust committees in that field. As Senior Dental Officer with NHS Manchester she completed research in community dentistry, gaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. She is an Honorary Teaching Fellow of the University of Manchester and was involved with outreach teaching.
Dr Hardman’s teaching/academic experience includes BSc (Oral Health Science) University of Manchester, teaching for the National Certificate in Dental Nursing and the Extended Duties for Dental Nurses (UcLAN). She serves on various committees including British Dental Association Oldham & Rochdale section; British Society of Paediatric Dentistry North West Branch. Her clinical interests are epidemiology, dental public health and primary dental care.
Dr Hardman's various affiliations/memberships include British Dental Association; British Society of Paediatric Dentistry; British Society for Disability & Oral Health; Dental Practitioners Association; Manchester Medical Society.

| Mrs Elaine Taylor-Duxbury |
Mrs Taylor-Duxbury qualified as a Dental Therapist from New Cross in 1975 and worked, predominantly, as a clinical therapist until 1992. She planned, organised and delivered several dental health promotion and tooth brushing programmes for schools within the area. She was an active member of the Council beginning as the North West regional representative leading to her election as President of the British Association for Dental Therapists, where she represented the interests of both national and international level.
In 1996 Mrs Taylor-Duxbury gained a degree from Lancaster University in Education and History, and worked as a teacher until 2004 when she returned to the world of dentistry as a Dental Therapist Tutor using both her educational and dental therapy experience as part of the team developing the first Dental Therapy/Hygiene course in the UK to be delivered within a Primary Care setting. |

| Mrs Rosemarie Khan |
Mrs Khan is a dental hygienist with many years of experience. This has been gained in a wide range of settings. She has previously worked in a school of dental hygiene as a tutor, as a dental hygienist in the hospital service and in general dental practice. She has also worked in the community dental service where she managed an oral health promotion team.
In 1995, Mrs Khan received the Leatherman Award. This was presented to her by the British Dental Hygienists’ Association for making an outstanding contribution to the profession of dental hygiene and in 1999 she was awarded the British Dental Association’s Medal of Honour and her name was placed on Association’s Role of Distinction in recognition of outstanding service to British dentistry. Mrs Khan was also awarded an O.B.E. in the Queen’s birthday honours in 1999. This was for services to standards in dental hygiene.
In addition to the diploma in dental hygiene, Mrs Khan’s qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and a masters degree in education, a diploma in dental health education, a further education teaching certificate and a certificate in dental nursing.
Mrs Khan was a DCP member of the General Dental Council until October 2009. She is currently a member of the panel of inspectors for the GDC and a member of the registration assessment panel. She is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, Faculty of General Dental Practice Diploma in Dental Hygiene. Mrs Khan has in the past been chair of the North West
Regional Group of the British Dental Hygienists Association and has held
office as national president of the British Dental Hygienists Association and as
a director of the International Federation of Dental Hygiene. |

| Mrs Diane Hunter |
Mrs Hunter qualified as a dental hygienist in 1997 and has worked within the NHS and private dental practices since. She has a wealth of clinical experience providing high quality teaching and has trained dental nurses in practice. |

| Mr Kelvin Farrell |
|
Mr Kelvin Farrell is dually qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist and graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 2004. Mr Farrell has worked within both the NHS and private practice gaining a wide variety of clinical experience.
In 2006 Mr Farrell became an honorary clinical tutor for the Liverpool outreach programme and was involved in the training of Dental Hygiene and Therapy students. He holds NVQ level 2 in Oral Health Support and level 3 in Dental Nursing.
In 2008 Mr Farrell joined the school as a Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy Tutor. |

| Mrs Ann Fearon |
Mrs Fearon has worked for the NHS in various settings including general practice, dental hospital and community clinics for 25 years as a dental nurse. She qualified with a dual diploma in Dental Hygiene & Dental Therapy in 2007 and continued to work in these areas.
Mrs Fearon joined the school team in 2009 on a part-time basis and divides her time between the school, community and general practice.

| Mrs Sharon Branagan |
|
Mrs Branagan started her Dental Nurse training in 1975 in a busy general practice qualifying in 1977. She joined Salford PCT in 1980 as a Dental Nurse and progressed to Dental Nurse Manager with the Trust from 1989 - 2005. Mrs Branagan was also the administrator for the Emergency Dental Service between 1990 - 2005.
She joined the school in 2005 as Senior Dental Nurse. |

| Mrs Kathryn O’Connor |
|
Mrs O'Connor became a dental nurse in 1977 working in a NHS practice in Bury, Lancashire. She progressed after a few years to North Manchester Community Dental Service.
The past seventeen years have been spent in Salford, the last four of those, being employed at the school working closely with students at one of the outreach community clinics. |

| Mrs Julie Horrigan |
|
Mrs Horrigan commenced employment in Manchester as an Insurance Underwriter with the Royal Insurance moving on to Sedgwick Insurance Brokers.
To return to employment following the birth of her children, she completed an NVQ in Business Administration.
Mrs Horrigan progressed within the hospitality sector in the following areas, PA to a Travel Manager; Hotel Reservations Agent; Hotel Group Co-ordinator; Hotel Reservations Office Manager to Special Events and Wedding Co-ordinator.
She joined the school at it's beginning in January 2005 as School Manager and has developed and maintained the role to date.
During her time at the school she has continued her professional development with the completion of a Counselling Skills course and the ECDL certification training.

| Miss Hayley Bradley |
After leaving school in 2008, Miss Bradley was offered a fantastic opportunity to join Salford Primary Care Trust as a Dental Nurse Cadet. She successfully completed her training and examinations in Dental Nursing in March 2010. Miss Bradley continues to work as a qualified Dental Nurse assisting dental officers and students at Eccles and Pendleton Gateway Centres.
She is currently working towards studying for post registration qualifications in radiography and oral health. |

| Miss Demi Froggatt |
After leaving school in 2008, Miss Froggatt was offered a fantastic opportunity to join Salford Primary Care Trust as an Apprentice Administration Assistant. She was assigned to the school to undertake her training.
Following completion of her NVQ level 2 in Business Administration in late 2009, Miss Froggatt moved to her current permanent position of Dental Clinic Receptionist with NHS Salford working closely with the school. |
